Why have a shoot at Just For You Studio?
Well, why not? For a start, it will be a memorable experience and you will come away with unforgettable
images that will never gather dust. It’s also an opportunity to show off your greatest asset (yourself!) and
be the centre of attention. Regardless of your reservations about your appearance, I will help you put them
aside and provide a studio shoot that will give you time for yourself and is a lot of fun. You will come away
with images of yourself that will be a lasting memory of this time in your life.
Why choose Just For You Studio?
Working in a studio environment ensures you are safe at all times and is designed to put you at ease and leave
your inhibitions at the door. Whether you have booked a family portrait or a self indulgent boudoir session,
I aim to offer warm, friendly and relaxing surroundings that help to bring the best out of you.
I am able to keep my prices low because I don't maintain my own studio and prefer to hire studio time as and when required. I regularly use a reputable Bournemouth studio located in Springbourne which is safe, comfortable and closed to the public. The studio I use is fully managed during your session so you can be sure there will be no interruptions from the moment you start getting ready to the point when you leave.

Do I really need a consultation prior to booking a session?
I offer a free 30 minute consultation for every client and there is no automatic assumption that you will
book a session as a result of having had a consultation. I prefer for the consultation to be held face to face at
a mutually convenient location as this gives you the opportunity to show me the kind of images you had in mind and
for us to discuss the amount of time and accessories required. I also bring along some sample albums so you can see
some more of my work and give you some idea of how you can present your images.
Remember, the more time we spend preparing prior to the actual session and the clearer we are about what is required, the more time we will have during your booked session to take photos.

I can't come to the studio for a consultation, what do I do?
I would prefer to conduct the consultation face to face for the reasons stated above, but also understand that
this is not always possible, especially if you live a long way away. In this case, I will aim to get a fair
understanding of your needs via a telephone consultation and ask you to direct me to images on the web that will
help us clarify your needs.
How do I book a session?
This couldn’t be easier. Give me a ring and we can arrange your free 30 minute consultation to discuss your needs.
We can then decide how much time you need to create the images you have in mind and the accessories required.
Once we are both happy with the intention of the shoot, I will book your session, request a non-refundable deposit of £50 and confirm all the details by email.

What if I'm not ready to book a session and just want to discuss my ideas?
No problem, just give me a ring and we can arrange your free 30 minute consultation to discuss your needs. You can
then decide whether to proceed further and if you do, just give me a call to arrange a session.
Do you photograph couples, children, families, pets?
I would be delighted to photograph couples, children and families. Unfortunately, I don’t have the facilities
to photograph pets, but would be delighted to quote for location work.
Are you a wedding photographer?
Whilst I do the majority of my work in the studio, I also do weddings and would be delighted to quote for your
special day!
Will you consider business commissions?
Absolutely. Although my main focus is on studio photography I have done commercial photography work and am more than happy to discuss your requirements, whether this is for product shots, web-images, fine art commissions or event photography.
What if I can't make it to the session I have booked?
Call as soon possible to let me know and we can re-arrange the session. As I use a third-party studio, I am
bound by their cancellation policy and the following terms and conditions apply.
If you reschedule with 72 working hours or more to go to your booking, your deposit can be carried forward to the revised studio time and no further deposit will be required.
If you reschedule with 72 working hours or less to go to your booking, your deposit cannot be carried forward and a further £20 will be required to secure a revised studio time.
If you cancel outright with 72 working hours or more to go to your booking, then I will able to refund your £50 deposit.
If you cancel outright with 72 working hours or less to go before your booking, then I will not be able to refund your £50 deposit.

I think I’m going to be late for my consultation / session, what do I do?
Please try to arrive on time for your appointment.
If you think you might be late, call me as soon as possible to let me know. Remember, if you have to rush to get to the studio you may not feel as relaxed as you need to be and this will show in the pictures.
If you do arrive late for your appointment, I will not be able to extend your studio time and you will therefore only have whatever time is left to the end of your session.

How many outfits should I bring?
We will discuss this during the consultation prior to the shoot. The amount you bring depends on the type of
images you’d like to capture and on how much time you’ve booked into the studio. As a guide you could have two or three changes during a one hour session.
What clothing and accessories should I bring?
We will discuss this during our consultation prior to the shoot. What you bring depends on the type of images
you’d like to capture. You might want a straightforward portrait in which case concentrate on bringing plain,
simple clothing, dark and light. Or you might have decided on a more risqué boudoir or fine art print, in
which case bring an assortment of lingerie. Whatever you decide on, here are some items of clothing to think
about.
Trousers/Jeans, Belt, Dress, Skirt, Tops, Shoes (high heels, sexy "shag me" shoes, sparkly, special to you, even sensible ones), Boots (high heels, thigh length, knee length, ankle, sexy "I'm in charge" boots), Lingerie (lacy, sexy, wedding, cheap 'n' naughty), wedding dress & veil, tiaras, mans shirt (short skirt!), ties, stockings, hold-ups or suspenders, sexy tights, corsets, chemise, g-string, baby-doll outfit, french knickers, boy-pants lacy or otherwise, hats & gloves.
Bring along any jewellery that you'd like to wear, but when it comes to great photos less is more.
And of course bring along any other clothing/accessories that will help you achieve the look you are after and make you feel comfortable about yourself.

Do you have anything I can use in my pictures?
Yes. We have a selection of hats, feather boas, fans, and miscellaneous other clothes and props at the studio.
What else should I bring?
Make up just to freshen up or change your look during the shoot. Hair straighteners, curlers, crimpers and any
other hair accessories you might need to use.
What do I need to prepare before coming to the session?
Make sure you have plenty of sleep the night before and you are well rested. Drink plenty of water.
If you are having body shots or think you might have body shots (you might surprise yourself once you’re in front of the camera!), then please remember not to wear socks, tights, stockings, bra or any other tight/constricting clothing that might leave a mark on your skin.
Do not wear deodorant. Even if the product promises no white marks, you would be surprised by the mess they can leave.
Style your hair and do your make up prior to arrival ready for your first set of pictures.
Pamper your nails and hands the night before as they’ll play an important part during your session.

Do you provide a make-up artist/hair stylist?
The one thing I don’t do is make-overs as I don’t believe they truly reflect who you are. I do, however,
believe that everyone looks fantastic without a load of heavily caked make-up and using half a can of hairspray
and that is why I highly recommend that you do your own hair and make-up prior to arrival at your booking. I
tend to find that my clients are far more comfortable with how they do their own face and hair and this is
reflected in their ease and relaxation in front of the camera.
I normally suggest you wear whatever make-up/hairstyle that makes you feel happy and confident, whether that is as if for a shopping trip, a hot date or a girlie night out I leave entirely up to you. Just remember that you will need a slightly heavier application of make-up than normal and to use non-reflective products to reduce the likelihood of shiny skin from the studio lights (unless of course you actually want to create an image with a sparkly cleavage!).
You just need to remember to bring along any make-up and hair products to your session so you can re-apply or make changes.

Can I bring a friend?
Of course you can! Some people feel nervous when coming for a session and although I will make sure you feel
relaxed and at ease, bringing along a friend can be helpful for those of a nervous disposition or if you have
booked a long session. They can also help when you change outfits. We can even combine sessions for you and a
friend if you want, go on think like a diva, but just bring your PA not your entourage!
What if I want to come alone?
That is fine too! Some people are more comfortable coming on their own as it will allow them to create a
uniquely personal experience. Sometimes, inhibitions can be shed more easily when there are no limitations
imposed by others.
Can I bring my husband / boyfriend / wife / girlfriend?
Yes you can, although I would not encourage you to do so. In order to get a set of images in which you look
relaxed, comfortable and are having fun, I need you to feel those emotions. Having a partner with you may not
encourage those feelings and if you decide on doing body shots, your partner may not understand or appreciate
the images you are trying to achieve and may inadvertently cause friction.
I am under 18, do I have to bring a parent?
I have a clean CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) certificate and I intend to keep it. Industry standards and
personal preference means that anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or authorised guardian (with a
completed ‘Authorised Guardian’ form from the parent) who must remain in the studio throughout the shoot.
I am over 18 but look young for my age. Do I have to bring ID?
Yes, if you are over 18 but look young for your age I will ask you to bring ID to your consultation and
session.
How will i get my pictures?
Once your studio time is complete, I will load all the proof images taken during the session on to a proof CD
and post them to you. I will also post-produce a few of my favourite images and load these on to the proof CD
so that you can see what is possible with the wonders of photoshop. Then it's really up to you!
You select the pictures you love and I will work my magic during post-production and email the selected pictures to you for final review and confirmation of the product(s) you’d like to use to present your images.
I will be able to show you product samples during your initial 30 minute consultation, but I can arrange to produce high quality prints at various sizes, framed, unframed, on canvas, in a digital frame, presented in a gorgeous coffee table book, on a CD, in a calendar or traditional album – the opportunities are endless.

Do I choose the pictures I'd like to keep?
Yes, of course you do. I will provide you with a wide selection of proofs to choose from. There will be many
that I would recommend and I'll tell you why, but the final decision is yours.
What are proofs?
These are images that have gone through a first wave of post-production which involves weeding out the ones
that really don't look that great (maybe you've blinked and have your eyes closed or even turned your head just
at the wrong time). Then I convert them to low resolution jpg which will be watermarked and suitable for review
only and will in no way reflect the quality of the final product.
When I do a first run at post-production I try to provide you with the widest selection possible. From there we can go through to selection and choose the ones you really love and carry out the second stage post-production which mainly involves cropping, re-sizing and conversion to high resolution jpgs ready for the final product.

What is a proof CD?
After your session I will produce a proof CD with the best images from your session (that's right, not all of
them will be fantastic, I'm really good at what I do, but I won't try and convince you that I'm perfect). The
images will be low resolution jpgs which will enable you to choose your favourites for me to post-produce ready
for final presentation in whatever format you choose. The proofs will be watermarked and unsuitable for
printing.

Can I view my pictures online after the session?
That's something I've asked my tame web-nerd to do for me. He does have a very long (and boring) answer as to
why it will take time to complete. What I did hear though was that security is very important and he doesn't
want to make the online access available until he has been able to make it as secure as it possibly can be and
tested it to the very limit. I can agree with that! Your privacy and the security of your photographs is
incredibly important to me. In the meantime, I will send you a low resolution proof CD with all the images
taken during your session that you will be able to review at your leisure.
How long will it be before I see the proofs?
This depends on how busy the studio is, I will try to give you some idea at the end of the session. However we
will always try to get the proofs ready for you to see within 5 business days.
What's a high res JPEG?
JPG is an industry standard digital image format. The resolution of an image can be optimised depending on
where it is being used - pictures on the web tend to have a lower resolution to reduce the size of the file.
Low resolution (Low Res) images in the main are not suitable for printing purposes and limit the size to which
the picture can be re-sized. High resolution (High Res) images, however, provide a better quality for printing,
allowing the printed image to be taken to larger sizes.
If you wish to purchase a digital file of any of your images, then I’d be pleased to quote for an individual image file which can be provided as high resolution jpg at 300dpi (printable to a maximum of 5”x7”) and/or as a low resolution jpg at 72dpi (suitable for email and putting on the web).

Can I purchase the copyright?
Yes. For a fee I can licence the copyright to you, which will allow you to reproduce and sell the images as yo
see fit. Please let me know if you are interested in licencing the copyright.
Who has access to my pictures at Just For You Studio?
Your pictures are stored on a secure file server that is not connected to the internet. The only people at the
studio that have access to the images are myself and members of the post-production team. My team understands
the meaning of privacy and will not show your images to others.
I can't afford to buy all the pictures I want from my session, how long do you keep them for?
The digital images we produce have very large file sizes and I can't, therefore, keep them indefinitely. I do,
however, store them for a period of 1 year after your shoot (this can be extended if you ask). So, if you can't
afford all of the photographs as soon as they are ready, you can buy them as and when you can.
Do you airbrush pictures?
If it's important to you and will produce the final pictures that you want to see and keep forever then, yes,
of course I can. Having said that, it's far too easy to take a digital photograph of someone in a standard pose
and run it through software to make it look good. Rushing you through like a battery hen is not what Just For
You Studio is about.
When it comes to making you look fantastic, I like to pay attention to the things that can't be done with a computer, making sure the pose makes the most of who you are, getting the lighting right, taking the shot from the right angle, making sure the exposure is just right. Digital image manipulation is there to get rid of the spot that’s appeared on your chin because you indulged in chocolate last night (yes, we all do it!) and not for reshaping entire parts of your body.
